So I have to have these in my life!! I've always loved sneakers! I have thrown boots and heels into the rotation but I can never get enough of a dope pair of kicks. Teyana Taylor is coming out with her first sneaker through Adidas and they are hot!! I'm happy for her and her success...she has always been in the industry but more of a behind the scenes person. She is now under Kanye's G.O.O.D label and seems to be doing very well. But just thought I'd share the video with her talking about the shoe and so you can see what they look like.
Yay or Nay??
I know I'll be making that trip to the Georgetown Adidas store to grab me up a pair....

Go MEEEEE...
I know this post is so random but I was just thinking about things in general and I just realized I have been to church 2 Sundays this month! The only reason I missed church the one other Sunday of the month is because Cayden was sick. I said I was going to try to go to church regularly this year and I'm starting off pretty good.
I know who cares lol

GROUPthink....
Group Think
They Play it safe
Are quick to assassinate what they do not understand....
They move in packs
Ingesting more and more fear with every act of hate on one another....
They feel most comfortable in groups
Less guilt to swallow
They are us
This is what we have become
Afraid to respect the individual
A single person within a circumstance can move one to change....
To love herself
To Evolve

I've always loved me some Erykah! This pictures is one of my favessss! She reminds me of myself, I love colors and sneakers are a girl's best friend! #phuckyopumps :-)) Back when she released Window Seat she had a "group think" awareness movement going, mainly on twitter, and I thought it was sooo true and also interesting. She would ask people what their definition of group think was and all her followers gave so many good answers.
We have all been guilty of group think and sometimes still are apart of it. Growing up, we are taught by schools and other places how to act, dress and talk in order to be successful. How to look to get a job or to be accepted by the "heavy hitters" and sometimes that image is not who we really are but it's who we need to be in order to gain what others feel is success. So as you get older you tend to lean towards what the "group" is doing...the group who seems to be HOT but when that gets old you have to change to still be accepted by the new "it" group or hot trend. At some point enough is enough....it becomes stressful because in that moment you think well what about me??? What do I like, how do I feel and who am I? Oftentimes we know who we are but the fear of not being accepted keeps you going down a path that you know is not genuine to YOU! No one wants to be standing alone but if standing alone means you have been true to yourself then do just that! There will definitely be replacements for those who have walked away and the new replacements will like you for the real you.
It seems social media has created the new age high school popularity contest amongst late 20s and 30 somethings....it's crazy to me the types of things I see on social media and most people do this all for the sake of some "likes" and ego boosting commentary. While those same people are the main ones saying the total opposite off social media. Social media was initially started for networking, keeping in contact and pure fun but now it seems to have become a sport and everyone wants to be apart of the GROUP. It's even gotten so bad that if you simply don't push the "like" button then you have all of a sudden become the biggest hater in the world. Nope my dear, some people may actually be OUT LIVING their lives and just didn't see your picture or they could have genuinely not liked the picture and that is ok...
I am striving to live a genuine life from here on out and be true to me and what I believe. I know I have not always done that in the past. When you are apart of a group it's hard to not pick up habits and thoughts of others and act in ways you normally wouldn't act if you were separate. All things are not meant to be understood but as E. Badu says things and people who are misunderstood so often get assassinated. And the assassination is done by those who barely know themselves but have cheerleaders to make them feel as if they do but being real with ourselves is not a big deal anymore as long as others like who we are on the outside. I want to live a life showing my son that he can dress how he wants, state how he feels...respectfully, be himself regardless and be happy. So the next time we are about to comment on the person who looks different or turn our nose up to the person who is down on their luck remember it could be you or once was you...step outside of the group or at least get your GROUP to continue to be individuals and respect others who choose to do just that.

Happy New Yearrr!!
Yeah yeah i know i'm 4 days late...#sueme! lol
But really it's a new year and the time to see all the gym's packed and all the changes people plan to make will be flooding...or have flooded or social networking timelines! Am I lying???
I've never been one to set new year's resolutions because it's a set up for disappointment and it's too much pressure. The one time you get off track with a resolution you tend to give up and revert back to your old ways. So I think we all should set goals for ourselves throughout the year and just keep striving to reach them. I know one of my goals is to just take my life and my family's life to the next level. Now that is in all areas, spiritually, mentally, physically and financially. 2012 was one of my best years with the birth of my Prince Cayden! I can't believe he will be 1 years old in a month...time slow down PLEASE! So most of last year was spent adapting and adjusting to motherhood, getting my body back (whoot whoot) lol and giving my all to my family life. That will definitely continue to be my focus for 2013 but now that we pretty much have the swing of things I can get back to incorporating ME into the equation. I now have better time management skills and a pretty good home life routine. There are a lot of things that I let fall by the waist side that I want to get back to. I also allowed non sense to consume me as well and that's a main goal of mine...STAY FOCUSED! I can't let the opinions or actions of others get to me. Minimizing my circle to those headed in the right direction and are focused on meaningful things...this will help me out for sure.
I'm not sure if any of you have set goals, resolutions etc. but just do your best and don't get discouraged if things don't go as planned. No one is perfect! Just be sure to regroup and get back on that path...try not to take life too seriously and give LOVE as much as possible! Nothing is promised so be sure to enjoy whatever it is you set out to do!
Smile often.....

Where I'm From: Jay Z Documentary
For all my Jay Z heads here is a mini documentary showing the process of opening the new Barclays arena as well as him preparing for his shows at the arena! I attended the last show and it was nothing short of amazing, as all of his shows are. At least that's how i feel lol He brought out Queen Bey and she tore it up as well as closed the show out with Jay singing Forever Young. I love their chemistry on and off the stage, i'm sure they have the ups and downs of any relationship but they seem genuinely happy, content and in love. They never do too much over the top PDA but you can tell they adore one another by their interactions. Sorry....back to the documentary lol I just love..LOVE!
I'm so happy for Brooklyn and Jay Z for this big move with the Nets...they aren't doing too bad either! The Nets beat the Knicks the other night so I think a rival has officially began. The battle of NY! He has brought so many jobs to the city as well as hope for kids from underpriveledged situations. Blacks aren't depicted in the most positive lights or being in many powerful positions on tv and in media so a lot of kids don't feel they are capable of achieving certain things. But Jay has shown them that anything is possible, regardless of your background or where you live.
And how cute was it for the lady on the train saying "oh I know about Jay Z"

Happy Friday! New Affirmation
The weekend is finally here!! And the weather is supposed to be pretty decent so I'll be hitting the streets fo' sho'!
I finally got back to reading, I had slacked off after I had Cayden still trying to learn to balance my time and use free time wisely. Now I'm back at it, I have things pretty much down packed and I've gotten my butt back on the METRO so that's great reading time. I had gotten half way through Russell Simmons's Super Rich book and I picked back up where I left off. I have found me another daily affirmation to add to my few I say each day, or most days.
"Your only true job is to be awake and focused in the moment. The results of that work belong to God"
I need to say this just about every hour! This section title in the book was 'Let Go of The Results' and I definitely need to work on that. We oftentimes focus on how much money we will make, if we are making what we think we should make, will people hear us or ever notice our efforts and that takes away from focusing on the task at hand. And it also makes us give up if we don't see the results by the time we feel we should. Whether it's taking care of your home, working at your job, starting a business just focus each day and don't worry about the results and they will be more than expected. Each step prepares you for the next. I am going to try my best to continue reading, it really gets my creative juices flowing and my braining moving!

I'm Officially HOOKED!!
So I'm sure I'm probably the last person on early to become addicted to Scandal but I'm HOOKED!! I did not watch the show last season but I just caught up on all the episodes from this season and Keri Washington aka OLIVIA is the shxt!!!! She handles her business! It's just crazy because a lot of this stuff makes you wonder how much of this goes on with politicians and other officials??? I always thought everyone was crooked but this show shines a whole different light on how things can disappear, be covered up and manipulated. My homie Buffie put me on to the show and I'm so glad she did! My Mom loves the show too so now we have more to talk about on our ride to work tomorrow! Let's hope I can stay up until 10 and not fall asleep.
I'm so proud of Keri Washington! I've been a fan of her since Save the Last Dance and she played the hell out of her role in I think I Love my Wife! I love seeing our black women in powerful roles on tv, even though some things may not be morally right but when you are dealing with crooked individuals you have to play the game they play or you won't survive!

Kids Style!
OMG! This little guy is so cute! I love his hair outfit and just everything about this pic! I was talking to someone about wanting my little guy to have a bush for a little while. He'll DEFINITELY have a haircut later on down the line but I'm feeling the wild style fro! I think his will turn out like this little boys...I am in love with overalls, they keep kids young and fun looking! Just wanted to share...yesterday, I saw some glasses like these online that I wanted to order Cayden...so loving this look! I'm a fan of Jordans and big boy clothes but I want my baby to know how to switch it up sometimes especially while he's young. Then when he is older he will know how to dress based on the occasion.

If You Are Going to Worry...Don't Pray
I'm sure many of us can relate to this!! I soooo needed this post the other! One of my fave people, June Ambrose, posted this on her Instagram page and it came right on time! I am dealing with a few issues that are out of my control which is nerve wrecking to the controlling Aisha...Lawd give me strenfff! Life has a way of throwing everything at you all at once....either all the good or all the bad , or what we assume to be bad. It's just hard to not worry when you have been waiting on certain situations to get better when you have been waiting for extended periods of times...meaning years! But I have to remember God has it and we always forget to look back at how far we have came instead of looking at trials at the present moment. Just how we moved forward in the past, we will do the same at the moment and in the future. These setbacks are just memories to allow us to experience joy when we move on to the next step. Do as much as you can, give as much as you can give then after that just Pray and DONT Worry!
He got us....I believe that
